The Carnival of Silver Skates in Groton, South Dakota is an annual outdoor figure skating performance. It is organized by a committee of volunteers and is performed with local talent. Skaters range in age from four to seniors in high school. It is one of the few remaining outdoor ice shows in the country. 

Registrations for the 2009 Carnival to be held Sunday, January 25, 2009 were due on October 6, 2008. Click here to download (in .pdf format) the information packet. 

A free Skating Clinic, sponsored by the Carnival of Silver Skates, is being held Saturday, December 27 through Monday, December 29 to help anyone interested in ice skating learn to skate or build on their skills. Click here for the schedule.
